Rochelle hospital offers digital mammography

Rochelle Community Hospital expanded its health and wellness services for women by adding a Selenga digital mammography system from Hologic.

The entire diagnostic imaging department now only uses digital images instead of film. Digital mammography allows radiologists to view X-ray images more closely, zeroing in on suspicious or concerning areas and enabling them to make immediate decisions about additional images needed.

It also takes less than half the time of traditional film-based exams. The hospital also offers computer-aided detection, providing a second read of the mammogram by a computer, helping radiologists make accurate diagnosis.
